Are You Enjoying Sturgis?

On August 4th, Sturgis Motorcycle Rally returned to the Black Hills for another great year, and the party is still going on. This year’s event is expected to have fewer visitors than the 739,000 people who showed up in 2015, but that won’t dampen the party. Here are a few reason Sturgis will rock in 2017.

Why Sturgis Is Going to Be Fun this Year

  • Smaller Crowd– Though there will probably be fewer people at the rally this year than in 2015, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. A smaller crowd means less traffic congestion and more room for you to stretch out. This means more enjoyable rides when you decide to explore the Black Hills like every rider at Sturgis does at one point or another.
  • Events– Harley-Davidson and Indian Motorcycles are showing up to the rally with events to entertain. Harley will be hosting a tattoo contest, a beard & mustache contest, and a giveaway. Meanwhile, Indian will have stunt shows, an American Flat Track Race at the Buffalo Chip, a concert and more. Each manufacturer will also be hosting rides, so don’t miss that either.
  • Law Enforcement– Sleepy Sturgis goes from 7,000 residents to around 500,000 when this event rolls through every year. So, the Sturgis Police Department has to be prepared. They hire extra officers from all over the country, and though they are focused on serving and protecting, they enjoy a little fun as well. Be courteous to the law enforcement officers serving during the rally. It’ll make having fun a lot easier for the officers and for you.

This has been a message from the motorcycling attorneys at the Metier Law Firm—we want you to have a safe rally, so rely on our comfort, safety and strength.
