2003 - George Harrison's acoustic guitar is sold at a London auction for 276,000 pounds. The original price of the guitar was three and one-half pounds.

1995 - Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day is arrested for mooning the audience during a show in Milwaukee and had to pay a $141.50 fine for indecent exposure.

1995 - Peter Grant dies of a heart attack at age 60.

1991 - Aerosmith was one of the first musical guests on The Simpsons with an animated Aerosmith on the "Flaming Moe's" episode.

1990 - Mick Jagger marries model/actress Jerry Hall after a decade-long relationship, in a six-hour ceremony on the island of Bali but 8 years later their marriage would be annulled after a judge rules the couple were never registered with authorities.

1980 - Don Henley is arrested after calling 911 to save a 16-year-old prostitute who has overdosed on cocaine and Quaaludes at his L.A. home.

1980 - Steely Dan releases Gaucho.

1975 - Elton John is awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in conjunction with an "Elton John Week" being declared in Los Angeles.

1974 - Marty Balin reunites with Jefferson Airplane, now known as Jefferson Starship, at a show at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco.

1968 - John Lennon asks for a tape recorder to be brought to the hospital so that he can record the baby's dying heartbeat, before Yoko Ono was about to miscarry their first child. The baby is buried in a secret location and the recording appears on the duo's album Unfinished Music No. 2: Life With The Lions as a track called "Baby's Heartbeat," followed by "Two Minutes Silence" for his death.

1960 - The Beatles' George Harrison was deported from Hamburg, Germany back to England. Historians typically blame the club's owner, Bruno Koschmider, who may have tipped the authorities to George's age, who was 17 at the time. The Beatles had broken his exclusive contract by playing in other venues, then returned to their rooms in one of his other venues and set it on fire in protest of being canned.
