Drummer Uses Trash Can To Cover Metallica, Sounds Better Than 'St. Anger'

While there isn't much that all metalheads can agree on, the fact that Metallica's eighth studio album St. Anger has the worst sounding snare drum of all time is uncontested. Many of the songs on the album are underappreciated because of Lar Ulrich's godawful snare tone. At times it sounds too thin - other times it sounds like a hollow can. It's powerless and sounds closer to something you'd hear from your teenage nephew's garage band, not the greatest heavy metal band. Even Lars has called the snare drum an "abortion" of sound.

Drummer Cameron Fluery got the genius idea to see if a trash can lid would work better on the album and proved himself right. Watch him play through the album's opening track "Frantic," and be blown away by how it sounds better than Lars' snare.
