2014 - Tommy Ramone, drummer from Ramones, dies of cancer at age 65.

2002 - Who bassist, John Entwistle, had over 200 people attend his funeral in St. Edward's Church in Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire, England. Entwistle was found dead in his Las Vegas hotel room on June 27th.

2000 - Metallica's Lars Ulrich was the first witness to testify at a U.S. Senate hearing over copyright law issues concerning free sharing of music files on websites like Napster and MP3.com.
