1988 - Guns N' Roses, on tour as the opening act for Aerosmith.

1980 - "She's So Cold" by the Rolling Stones was released. 

1979 - The Who made their first U.S. concert appearance without Keith Moon. Kenny Jones replaced him on drums. 

1975 - "Alive!" was released by KISS. The album contained live performances from KISS' first three albums. 

1973 - The BBC, predictably, bans The Rolling Stones' single "Star Star," which is better known as "Starf----r."

1972 - The Doors play their last concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

1966 - The Beatles' Revolver hits #1.

1963 - While traveling in London, John Lennon and Paul McCartney encounter Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham, who worked as a promoter for The Beatles earlier in the year.
