Minor League Baseball is Headed to Northern Colorado

With the success and support Northern Colorado has shown the Colorado Eagles, I always thought there was a ton of opportunity for a minor league baseball team here... Finally it's happening!

The Orem Owlz announced their departure from Orem, Utah to Windsor, Colorado, to become the Northern Colorado (NoCo) Owlz, as they join the formation of the new Major League Baseball Partner League. The Northern Colorado Owlz will join seven other teams in the Pioneer League for a 92-game season, beginning on Memorial Day Weekend and concluding in September.

According to a News Release:

The Northern Colorado Owlz will play at Future Legends Complex, a new 118-acre sports, entertainment, and retail development currently under construction in Windsor, Colo., that will open fully in spring 2022. Future Legends will have a multi-use professional stadium to house the Owlz and other professional teams. The complex will also offer state-of-the-art playing facilities for national and local tournaments, dorm-style lodging for tournament participants, hospitality options, restaurants, and other amenities on-site.
With the assurance that professional baseball is coming to Northern Colorado, the Owlz tentatively anticipate a 2021 season pending COVID-19 restrictions, giving fans the opportunity to engage in affordable family fun and support the Owlz at 46 home games, compared to 38 in the previous league’s format.
