The Case Keenum era was short-lived.

The Broncos will trade Keenum to the Washington Redskins once the new NFL year begins on Wednesday, March 13.

KOA NewsRadio Broncos Insider Mike Klis of 9News broke the news.

The Broncos will pay 3-and-a-half million dollars of Keenum's seven million dollar salary next year and will also give him a $500,000 restructuring bonus. In addition, Denver will receive Washington's 6th-round draft pick in 2020 and send their 2020 7th-rounder to the Redskins.

Keenum signed with the Broncos as a free agent in March of 2018 but struggled in his only season in the Mile High City.

While starting all 16 games, Keenum completed 365-of-586 passes (62.3%) with 18 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.

The Broncos lost their final four games and finished with a 6-10 record.

Now, they reset at quarterback with Joe Flacco as the starter after their trade with the Ravens becomes official.

All trades will become official when the new NFL year starts at 2 p.m. mountain time next Wednesday.

Friday, Klis joined Colorado's Morning News on KOA to talk abut the deal.
