The Denver Broncos made a move to bolster the secondary.

They agreed to a three-year contract with former Houston Texans defensive back Kareem Jackson on Monday, the first day teams could talk with agents of players who will become free agents when the new NFL year starts on Wednesday at 2 p.m. mountain time.

KOA NewsRadio/Orange & Blue 760 Broncos Insider Mike Klis first reported the deal.

Jackson reportedly gets $33 million with $23 million fully guaranteed.

Jackson, 30, has spent his entire nine-year NFL career with the Texans after they selected him with the 20th overall pick in the 2010 draft.

He played cornerback the first eight years of his career before moving to safety in 2018. Before the end of the season, however, injuries forced back to cornerback.

He has 468 tackles and 16 interceptions in his career.
