Melissa is a 2 and ½ year old spayed, female Boxer/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. She will turn 3 in July. She is just shy of 80 pounds and has the cutest wrinkles....
She is current on all of her vaccines, including Bordetella. She is completely housetrained (has never had an accident) and crate trained. She has no known food allergies or intolerances and no health problems. She is highly treat motivated; she would probably do just about anything for a treat.
Melissa adores peanut butter, especially in a Kong. She easily learns commands and demonstrates exceptional intelligence. She loves to play fetch. She craves affection and enjoys being petted and getting and giving lots of hugs and kisses. She is very strong and could run all day long if you let her. She is trained to use a dog door and loves to be outside, but she always runs back in just to check on you and make sure you are okay before she heads back out. In case you don’t have a dog door, she taught herself to open doors with handles to let herself back in from the outside.
She enjoys the snow and could play in it for hours! She has never been around children or the elderly, but she does well with teenagers. She is an excellent guard dog. She barks at noises outside the home, especially voices. She would be a great hiking companion as she needs the exercise and would protect you at the cost of her own life.
