Marathon #8 was a tough one. Turns out all the training runs in our freezing Colorado weather don’t come in as handy when the temps are 75 in Arizona! I still hit my goal of finishing under 4 hours, but missed qualifying for the Boston Marathon by 2 minutes & 45 seconds. No complaints though, especially when the race started with a gorgeous sunrise and my family was waiting at the end! It was a fun weekend celebrating a finish and our son's 22nd birthday! Kudos to the Mesa Marathon for doing everything so well. Loved the start line: heaters everywhere, flood lights and SO many porta potties! The sunrise was a nice topper. If you’re looking for a well-executed destination 10K, 13.1 or 26.2, put this on your calendar for 2023!
