Time for the 1st Motorcycle Road Race this Season?

Wow! Did you realize the road racing season has just started? Every February, riders from the World Superbike Championship start their bids for the title at Phillip Island in Australia. It can catch you off guard, but if you have the winter blues, it’s a surprise that will knock the snow off your boot and get you ready for the riding season.

What You Need to Know About the First WSBK Race of the Season!

Last year, Jonathan Rea took his second WSBK championship while riding the factory Kawasaki. His nearest competitor was Chaz Davies of Wales, but with many changes rolling into the paddock, could either of them expect to fight for the title again?

This year, Honda has returned to the grid with a highly redesigned CBR1000RR. It is piloted by former MotoGP champ Nicky Hayden—the Kentucky Kid! Meanwhile, former WSBK race winner—and near champion—Macro Melandri rejoined the series on a Ducati Panigale.

If that wasn’t enough, Yamaha is searching for a championship on its new YZF-R1 platform, and British Superbike champ Alex Lowes is raring to deliver that win. Of course, Tom Sykes is also itching for his own shot at the championship since he hasn’t won one since Rea joined the Kawasaki team. If you think this sounds like a recipe for intense and competitive motorcycle racing, then you can see into the future pretty well, because that is exactly what we got!
