Was it the Most Exciting MotoGP Season Opener Yet?

The MotoGP season has started! Did you get a chance to watch the season opener? Well, don’t worry if you didn’t. The motorcycling attorneys here at the Metier Law Firm have a rundown that’ll hook you up with the action and excitement of the first race of the season.

MotoGP Grand Prix of Qatar—The Race of Surprises

When the GP teams pulled into the Losail International Circuit, things seemed pretty normal for a race weekend. The riders got in a few laps, there was just a bit of wind as there usually is during the Qatar GP. Then the skies darkened, and rain began to pour.

Being in the desert means Losail rarely sees any rain, but it came down in fits and starts over the weekend. That made the race track difficult to ride, and it also forced organizers to cancel MotoGP qualifying. That meant that the starting grid was based on practice lap times, and that put the newest rider for the factory Yamaha team—Maverick Viñales—on pole position. However, this prime positioning didn’t guarantee victory.

Viñales had a rough start when the lights went out. He was passed by Andrea Iannone, Andrea Dovizioso, and Marc Marquez, but that wasn’t the amazing part. MotoGP rookie, and Tech 3 Yamaha rider, Johann Zarco blitzed past all the riders. He road into first position and eked out a significant gap over his nearest competitor, Marquez.

Would this lead hold? Where did pole-sitter Maverick Viñales go? Could a mystery rider spoil the show? Keep following the motorcycling attorneys on this blog to find out.
